Are drinks or food allowed?
At the Discovery Center, we ask that you do not bring any food or drink into the Gallery, labs, or classrooms. This guideline helps us keep the environment safe and our learning spaces in excellent condition for everyone. For example, even a small spill from a water bottle can make our concrete floors very slippery, which could lead to accidents like slips or falls. To keep everyone safe—including students, teachers, and visitors—we do not allow any kind of liquids in these areas. Our policy also aligns with common practices at museums and educational centers everywhere. Food, snacks, and chewing gum can leave behind crumbs or sticky spots that might damage delicate artifacts or exhibits. These materials can stain, attract pests, and even speed up the wear and tear on important learning resources. By not allowing these items, we protect the collections and create a cleaner, healthier atmosphere for discovery and exploration. By following these rules, we can make sure the Discovery Center remains a fun, safe, and respectful space for all who come to explore, learn, and engage with the wonders of space and science. Thank you for helping us care for this special place so it can inspire today’s learners and tomorrow’s leaders.
